00:12.000 --> 00:29.000

00:30.000 --> 00:50.000

01:06.000 --> 01:24.000

01:25.500 --> 01:49.000

01:50.000 --> 01:55.000

[Promotora] Hello, my name is Tere Gómez. Developer in Northern Area 1 in Brighton.

[Promotora] I will tell you the story of a person over 60 years of age.

 00:12.000 --> 00:29.000

[Promotora] She has worked in the agricultural fields since 92, she started in the culture in California.

[Promotora] When the doors were closed due to lack of documents and due to an accident at work, she decided to come to Colorado.

00:30.000 --> 00:50.000

[Promotora] She has already been working on different ranches for 10 years, here in the state. She works from planting, harvesting, and sorting the different types of vegetables.

[Promotora] She tells me that she earns $13 an hour, but they take away a lot of taxes for not having dependents.

00:51.000 --> 01:05.000

[Promotora] When you work long hours in the summer, you earn 1,000 to 1,200 per fortnight. But that's only a couple of months.

[Promotora] Then her salary is between 400 to 500 dollars per fortnight.

01:06.000 --> 01:24.000

[Promotora] Sometimes she is out of work, she has to look at other ranches. Where the salary is lower.

[Promotora] She also tells me that only in rent and payment of transportation to her work, she pays 800 dollars a month.

01:25.500 --> 01:49.000

[Promotora] This person does not have a family. She tells me that she needs work gloves, water boots, a jacket for the cold, a jacket to cover herself from the water when it rains and covers mouths.

[Promotora] By sharing her story, I could see her fear, weariness, and concern for her future.
