[Promotora] Hola, soy Cecilia Meras.
00:17.000 --> 00:52.500
[Promotora] Como aumento de salario y esas cosas. ¿Puedo hacerle unas preguntas?
00:53.000 --> 01:15.000
01:16.000 --> 01:31.200
01:33.000 --> 01:49.500
01:50.000 --> 01:56.500
[Trabajador] Trabajamos mucho y hacemos mucho trabajo. Y no nos pagan bien. Creo que todo sube menos el salario.
01:58.000 --> 02:13.000

[Promotora] Hi, I'm Cecilia Meras. I am a North Region 3 organizer, from Yuma, Eckley and Wray Colorado. Our task force is trying to reach out to state legislators for some bills for agricultural people.
00:17.000 --> 00:52.500
[Promotora] Like salary increase and stuff. Can I ask you some questions?
[Worker] Yes of course.
[Promotora] Ok, can you tell me a little about what it's like to work in Colorado as an Agricultural Worker? Please describe your experience working on farms in Colorado
[Worker] Well, look here working in Colorado if it's a little difficult. It is a slightly racist state, and they are long hours of work, very difficult. They hardly give breaks.
00:53.000 --> 01:15.000
[Promotora] Ok, what’s so difficult about working with Colorado farmers and Colorado farms? What do you think causes these difficulties?
[Worker] Well, I think we go back to the same thing that I had said. Which are, well, long hours, they pay little. I think that is difficult for me.
01:16.000 --> 01:31.200
[Promotora] Why do you work here in Colorado? What brings you here?
[Worker] Well, here are more opportunities to work on what I know how to do, what is agriculture and farms and all that.
01:33.000 --> 01:49.500
[Promotora] If you could have 60 seconds to speak directly to state legislators, what would you say to them?
[Worker] Well, that they take us more into account. That they help us more in certain things, that they raise our salary. Because I think it is very badly paid.
01:50.000 --> 01:56.500
[Worker] We work a lot, and we do a lot of work. And they don't pay us well. I think everything goes up except the salary.
01:58.000 --> 02:13.000
[Promotora] Ok, do you want to remain anonymous?
[Worker] Yes, the truth yes. I don't want any of my employers to find out and they could fire me for giving this interview.
[Promotora] Ok, thank you very much for giving me the interview.
[Worker] No, you're welcome.
[Promotora] Thank you.
