This story comes from Lucia Gaspar, a promotora from the San Luis Valley region. In the beginning of February, Lucia was contacted by a school counselor from an alternative school in Conejos County. The school had a small number of students, some of which were the children of agricultural workers. The counselor was reaching out to the Promotora Network to ask if they could get some food bags for these families, and the promotoras were able to assemble and deliver enough food bags to help out these families. Additionally, the promotoras were able to include some masks and hand sanitizer with the bags, which the counselor and families were extremely grateful for.
