“All of my life I have worked the land. I like working in the fields of Colorado but the weather conditions are hard. The work is seasonal and starts in April, preparing the land for the season and it ends in November, it is 7 months of hard and forced work, with a wage of only $12.00 per hour, there is no overtime, medical insurance, a day worked is a day paid.

In many cases I was a witness to harassment, maltreatment, and discrimination from the managers toward the workers. Language is the principal barrier for communication between the worker and the managers, the manager will always give their version in favor of the owner.

I only want to work without being a burden on the government, my priority is to protect my family from violence and corruption in my country.

To the legislators I would say that the stories be taken into consideration for the benefit of the entire community, liberty to work and respect for the person."
