[Trabajador] Ok. Mi experiencia en granjas de aquí de Colorado es que pagan muy poco, pagan muy poco los salarios. Que quieren pagar muy poco los encargados que tienen. Todo el tiempo te exigen más trabajo, ¿me entiende? Esa es la única razón, de lo que es el campo y lecherías. ¿Ok?

[Trabajador] De todo el tiempo que tengo yo en Colorado he trabajado en lechería, pocas horas he trabajado en el campo. He trabajado lechería, nunca he agarrado vacaciones, no he ganado ningún beneficio de días de enfermedad, ningún día extra me han pagado, yo no he ganado nada en lo que es de lechería, lo que es de empresa de lecherías.

[Promotora] Ok. La segunda pregunta es, ¿qué tiene de difícil trabajar con agricultores de Colorado y en qué granjas de Colorado o qué cree que es la causa más difícil? En sus palabras, ¿usted qué cree que es lo más difícil de trabajar en las granjas aquí en Colorado?

[Trabajador] Lo más difícil… bueno lo más difícil es que en tiempos de frío tiene uno que trabajar a temperaturas muy, ¿cómo se dice? Muy altas. No importa si esté nevando, está lloviendo, esté bajo cero. Uno tiene que hacer los trabajos, como, quebrar el hielo al agua de las vacas o tiene que traer a los animales. No importa el clima, no importa nada de eso.

[Promotora] Y en su experiencia, ¿cómo le ha tocado que lo traten los patrones o los agricultores de aquí en Colorado? Los encargados de las tierras.

[Trabajador] Bueno, los encargados esos son un poco… ese es el problema, con la raza de uno, que los encargados siempre te tratan de exigir más trabajo, pero nunca… te exigen trabajo, pero nunca piden un aumento. Nunca le dicen al patrón: dales un aumento a los trabajadores. Nunca, es por la misma raza de uno.

[Promotora] Y usted, ¿por qué no ha pedido un aumento directamente con el patrón? ¿Por el idioma, tiene la barrera del idioma? ¿no habla inglés o porque no hay ese contacto más cercano con los patrones?

[Trabajador] No. No hay ese contacto con los patrones. Ahora, no hay ese contacto ya cerca de los patrones. Ellos han puesto unas, como, unas reglas que nomás se dirige con el encargado para que uno no pida el aumento directamente al patrón.

[Promotora] Entonces, ¿no hay posibilidad, ni de porque usted tiene unas habilidades especiales? O porque es bueno para desempeñar su trabajo, no hay posibilidades de que haya ningún aumento porque pues, no se puede hablar directamente con el patrón, ¿verdad?

[Trabajador] Esa es muy buena razón, perdón. Esa es muy buena pregunta. Yo vengo de Vegas, en Vegas tengo buenos patrones, yo siempre trabaje muy bien, pero me enferme y yo ya no puedo trabajar de noche. Ya no podía dormir, ya no puedo trabajar de noche.

[Trabajador] Entonces, descubrieron que mi… la altura o algo, como se dice, la altura que es igual de donde nací en mi pueblo, es en Colorado. Tiene el mismo nivel, esa es la razón que yo vine a Colorado.

[Trabajador] La injusticia que está pasando aquí en Colorado, del que yo he mirado con los patrones, es que los patrones quieren, lo que es aquí en ganadera, quieren pagar… todos se ponen - ellos se están poniendo de acuerdo con pagar el mismo sueldo.

Puro doce horas.

[Promotora] Y ¿no hay de qué si se siente mal o se enferma o algo, verdad? Tiene que ser las doce horas por corrido.

[Trabajador] No. Yo digo que a ellos no les importa. Ellos lo que quieren, es el trabajo. A ellos no les importa, porque en mi segundo trabajo que tuve, ahí cada uno - uno agarra una máquina y luego viene el otro y la agarra y yo le dije al patrón.
